John Webber is a business
person and teacher. His background in business is reflected in his teaching
and writing.
In the business world, John's
primary interest has been in real estate development. He has served on the
board of directors for the Salt Lake Board of Realtors, as chairman of the
Education Committee for the Utah Association of Realtors, as Regional Governor
for the National Association of Independent Fee Appraisers, and as a partner
in a tax-consulting business.
Like
many other teachers, John regards teaching as something
fun and rewarding. He has been teaching
at the Salt Lake Community College for over 20 years.
While teaching, he has authored several texts:
Math for
Business and Life
Contemporary
Business Mathematics
Investment
Analysis
Get Rich Slow (with rental real estate)
(to explore this paperback book, go to: www.getrichslowwebber.com)
In
the classroom, John believes that students learn more if they are shown
the big picture before being presented with the details. Then, students
retain more if the stuff is kept simple, pertains to real-life, and if
the students are involved in the classroom. A little fun along the way
doesn't hurt, either.
John lives in Salt Lake
City, Utah. He enjoys activities in the nearby mountains, like white-water
rafting, camping, and fishing. He is a respectable tennis player, but
a frustrated golfer. According to his weight, he should be 4 inches taller.
John is married (to his sweet wife Debbie) and has five children (Wendy,
Robin, Toni, Tara and Casey). Feel free to contact
John by calling 800-6-WEBBER, or by e-mailing him at jwebber@olympuspub.com.
He would love to hear from you. |
